ITATIAIA - The Higher Region
Also called "Itatiaia´s Plateau", it guards the mountains, different rocky formations and rupicolous vegetation.
The access is through the country's highest road that begins at 1,700m of altitude and finishes at 2,500m.
Also a good place to the birdwatchers, where they can search for Black and Gold Cotinga, Diademed Tanager, Blue Manakin, Itatiaia Spinetail and Black-breasted Plovercrest.
